For a donation, any child under 16 can pick up a 10X10 art board and create an artwork- subject, style, and medium up to them.
All proceeds go to Children's Hospital.
As an extra bonus, every child who participates will be entered into a draw to have their work custom-framed to their specifications for free.
And then while visiting the exhibit from August 1-9, members of the public are invited to vote for their favorite work. The winning artist receives a $25.00 gift certificate to Opus Art Supplies!
A student from the studio won the certificate last year with the artwork below. I was so excited for her!
So while picking up some supplies for camp the other day, I bought 8 art boards for the exhibit. I'm a strong believer in teaching my own children that they have a responsibility to give back to their community and thought it would be nice to carry that belief over in the studio.
So on Sunday, July 19 from 3-4:30, I'll be running a workshop for students to complete a work to enter into the Opus Kid's Art Exhibit. The cost will be $25.00 and all proceeds will be donated to Children's Hospital.
So here's an impromptu opportunity to have your child help other children in our community while having fun at the same time.
Each child will have access to whatever mediums they want and I'll help them bring their personal vision to fruition on the art board. If they don't have an idea, no worries. I'll have lots of project ideas they can use.
Register through KudzuStudio.com. Space is limited to eight students.
