monoprints of the family pet

This is one of my favorite forms of printmaking with children.

The gelatin plates are an easy way for them to have fun printmaking with absolutely very little adult help from me. They are in charge of the process from beginning to end.

After quick instruction to build up the ink slowly and try not to wash the brush between colors, they are off to the races.

I love the prints they pulled almost as much as they did in the end.

I'm always amazed at how well this project works regardless of the age.
