A different viewpoint on watercolor

So today marked the second week of art camp due to the Teacher's Strike in British Columbia and it was a packed studio!!

We started our day with a watercolor project I originally saw on "The Artist Woman" blog.

The students picked out a landscape photograph that interested them and I made a viewfinder for each of them to use to create at least three different perspectives of the picture.

Before we started, I made a small "worksheet" on watercolor paper for them to try a variety of different watercolor techniques that they could utilize later in their artwork.

You will see some students even did four works!  And I love the abstract quality of the pieces.  I mounted them together on Bristol Board for them to take home.

I would frame each and every one of them!

Below are some of the photos used for inspiration and the artwork created from them.  Enjoy!

This little girl used several different pictures for her grouping, can you figure out which square was inspired by the above picture?
